Alicia Curran

Senior writer & public affairs

Hi, I’m Alicia. I'm passionate about how public policy can change people’s lives for the better and I love telling stories.

I enjoy diving into complex issues and turning them into meaningful and relatable stories that impact change so I thrive where communications and public policy meet. I started Alicia Curran Communications so that I could work exclusively with organizations whose missions I deeply support.

I’ve served in communications, public relations, and public policy roles in state government and the private sector, including leadership positions in the Massachusetts Senate, the Massachusetts Auditor’s Office, and the Florida House of Representatives. Recognizing the impact of communications and media on public policy, I joined the public relations firm Solomon McCown & Company, where I managed award-winning healthcare and public affairs accounts.

I’m a founding board member of Marjory Stoneman Douglas Alumni of New England, Inc. which supports policies to end gun violence in response to the shooting at my alma mater in Parkland, FL. I also served on the Center for Health Information and Analysis Oversight Council and the Massachusetts Sepsis Awareness Advisory Council. I am an alumni of the University of Central Florida (Go Knights!) and Suffolk University, which brought me to Boston where I have made my home as an adult. I’m happiest when I’m running, traveling, hiking, and spending time in the mountains of New Hampshire with my husband, my son, and my dog.
