My point of view is at the intersection of journalism and marketing (a line that is increasingly blurred today). No matter what the medium—a client’s own blog or a national publication—I work closely with organizations and leaders to help them tell their essential stories in the most direct, engaging way possible. My 20 years’ experience in marketing communications and editorial roles lead me to ask the right questions and develop messaging that captures hearts and minds. You can find my work in the pages of corporate, university and trade publications, along with The Wall Street Journal, CommonWealth, The Boston Globe and WBUR’s Cognoscenti, among others.
After studying journalism at Boston’s Simmons College under the tutelage of the Globe’s Derrick Z. Jackson, I took a detour into a public relations and marketing communications career, with a stop in public policy communications in Washington, DC. There, I learned that issues rarely have only two sides—a lesson that has not failed me since. In 2010, I left my role as Communications Director for the health policy institute NEHI to focus exclusively on copy and content writing, the thing I love most (other than my husband, son, neurotic cat and rule-disregarding mini goldendoodle).
