Zamawa Arenas

Founder & CEO

Hi, I'm Zamawa, a marketing strategist and entrepreneur intent on making a difference.

I started Flowetik to help nonprofit and foundation leaders grow and scale their missions through smart, practical branding and marketing. I’ve dedicated my professional life to working with clients whose missions I deeply believe in—across health care, public health, education, workforce development, and economic development.

Before launching Flowetik, I was co-owner of Argus, a full-service marketing and branding agency, for 20 years.

Three decades ago, I came to the U.S. after building a career in journalism, PR, and cable broadcasting in my native Venezuela. After earning a master’s degree from Boston University, I faced a choice: return home or build a career in the States. I chose to stay—on one condition: that my work would have a meaningful impact. That decision has shaped every step since.

I began by launching Eurocinema, the first international pay-per-view movie service online in the late ’90s. Long before Netflix, Hulu, or PayPal, we were streaming art-house films online. Many doubted it would work. History proved otherwise.

Beyond my professional work, I serve on the boards of the Blue Cross Blue Shield of Massachusetts Foundation, the Boston Chamber of Commerce, and Eastern Bank. I previously served 16 years as a Trustee of the Boston Public Library and 10 years as a Director of the Boston Foundation. I’m also a founding member of Unidos in Power and the Latino Equity Fund at TBF, and was appointed by Governor Maura Healey to the state’s Latino Empowerment Council.

Outside of work, I enjoy mindful yoga, sunny beach days, and discovering flow—where purpose, creativity, and impact align.
